OVERDRIVE

Engineered to Win. Built to Inspire.

About Overdrive

Team Overdrive is a First Tech Challenge robotics team based in Bacau. Founded in 2026, we are a group of passionate student engineers, programmers, and designers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in competitive robotics.

Our team competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge, where we design, build, program, and operate robots to complete game-specific tasks. Beyond the competition field, we are committed to community outreach, STEM education, and inspiring the next generation of innovators.

This season, Team Overdrive is focused on fundraising. We are proud to represent our school and community on various events and competitions.

Padawan

Season 2025-2026 · INTO THE DEEP

Our robot, Padawan, was designed from the ground up to excel at the FTC decode challenge. Built on a custom mecanum drivetrain, Padawan features a hooded shooter for scoring artifacts, and a lift for end-game performance that allows the robot to ascend 51cm to achieve a full park.

The robot is programmed in Java using the FTC SDK, with a custom autonomous routine leveraging odometry for precise positioning. Our control system uses a REV Control Hub paired with an Expansion Hub.
